Established in 1971, Accuro has been helping keep Kiwis healthy for over 50 years. In 2024, Accuro joined UniMed to become part of New Zealand’s third largest health insurer.
We make health insurance simple, clear and transparent by talking to you in language you can understand. We actively engage with Members at every step of their health insurance journey, managing your health before, during and after illness strikes or you need medical treatment.
Established in 1971, Accuro initially provided comprehensive health cover to the health care professionals working in New Zealand's hospitals. Because of this, we have many Members from the health sector.
In 2024, Accuro joined with UniMed, a not-for-profit kiwi health insurer, to become part of New Zealand's third largest health insurer.
Accuro is now a brand owned, operated and underwritten by Union Medical Benefits Society Limited (UniMed).
From late July 2025, we will begin the transition to the UniMed brand. This means that you will see the UniMed logo and name replacing Accuro. We are completing this change as a gradual process, so you may still continue to see the Accuro name in some places. You can read more about the transition on the UniMed website.
