Earlier this year we reviewed our policy wording with regards to our ability to decline claims that have a treatment or procedure date over 12 months old. Since 2018 our policies noted that we would only decline claims for this reason where there has been disadvantage to Accuro, but our practice did not match this. We decided therefore to remove the 12 month clause in its entirety as it is no longer appropriate, or in the best interests of our members
As part of this process, we have reviewed all claims that were declined since 1st April 2014 for this reason. We identified all past and present customers to whom this applied and have contacted them directly to pay their claim(s).
However, if you did not submit a claim because it was more than 12 months old and you believed that you would have been declined, please do submit your claim for review.* Accuro is committed to always delivering the best outcomes for our members which is why we will continue to review policy wordings and benefits from time to time.
