Dental and Optical plan

Your eyes, teeth and gums are just important to your overall health. So with Dental and Optical you're covered for the costs of dental and optical care.

Dental Care

You're covered for up to 80 per cent of the cost - up to $500 a year. Dental Care includes examination, cleaning, scaling,     x-rays, fillings and teeth removal. Major oral surgeries are already covered under the Hospital and Surgical plan. Orthodontic treatments are covered after three years on Dental and Optical as a reward for your loyalty.

Orthodontic treatments in the first three years and orthognathic (maxillofacial) treatments are not included, although some of these treatments might be covered under your Hospital and Surgical plan.

Optical Care

You're covered for:

  • Optometrist and orthoptist visits of up to $60 a visit, up to $300 a year
  • Glasses and contact lenses when there's a change in prescription of up to $300 a year.

With Dental and Optical there's a stand-down of 90 days before a claim can be made but you won't pay any excess on claims.
